正義とは、なんでしょう?

それは、対人関係において相手に対してふさわしい接し方をする事です。

全ての人が生まれながらにして尊厳と価値を持っています。

人によって、価値が高いとか低いとかいうことはありません。

全ての人の人生が独特で、貴重で、かけがえのないものなのです。

全ての人が人間の尊厳から生じる権利を持っています。



まず、あなた自身の尊厳(自己の尊厳)は、守られていますか?

そして、あなたの周辺や関係している方の尊厳(他者の尊厳)は、
守られているでしょうか? また、守ってあげられているでしょうか?

以下の人権宣言の内容より確認してみましょう。

過去におきましても、思い起こしてみてみましょう。




 
反省の際や、良き人格の学びと調和を保ち、調和を再調整(リバランス)、又、回復させる際にもご利用下さい。

1、まず、反省が必要な原因となる理由を書いてみましょう。

2、問題となった状況を、問題にならないために、又は、避ける事ができたであろう対処方法を少なくとも、3つ以上考え文章にしてみましょう。

3、あなたの得意な事は何ですか?また、苦手な事は何ですか?
  どうすればそれを克服できると思いますか?

4、あなたの長所を5つ挙げてみましょう。

5、あなたの改善しなければならない短所を三つ挙げましょう。

6、あなたの小さかった頃はどうだったでしょう?現在はどうでしょう?
  十年後はどうありたいでしょう?の三つに分けてそれぞれ書いてみしょう。

7、誰か他の人をより善い人にするために、どのようなことができますか?書いてみましょう。

8、あなたが懺悔の部屋を必要とする事があると思いますか? 
  それは、どうしてでしょう?理由も書いてみましょう。

 



 

1948年 世界人権宣言が採択され、その中では三十以上もの基本的人権が唱えられています。人として基本的な生活と一貫とした人間の尊厳が保証されいます。

やさしい言葉で書かれた世界人権宣言は、
ジュネーブ大学のL.マサランティ教授(心理学専攻)を指導者とする研究班が、NGOの一つで人権教育の研修や普及に活躍しているEIP(平和の手段としての学校のための世界協会)と協力して1979年に開発・公表した簡易テキストによる世界人権宣言です。

人権に関する最も重要な国際文である「世界人権宣言」を誰もが読んで理解できるために、フランス語での日常会話で使われている約2,500語だけで人権宣言をやさしく書き換えています。

さらに30ヶ条からなる人権宣言の内容を5つのカテゴリー(あなた、家庭、社会、国、世界)に分類し、一部は順序を入れ替えるなど、理解しやすくなるための工夫をしています。

ただし、日常生活で使う基本的な言葉だけで人権宣言の内容を十分にあらわすことには当然無理もあるので、人権宣言の原文もあわせて読めるように並べて印刷されています

小学生から大人まで、誰もが学習に使える教材です。

なお、EIPから英語版も刊行され、広く世界的に活用されてきています。

第1条  (世界)


子どもたちは生まれつき、だれもがみな自由であって、いつもわけへだてなくあつかわれるべきです。
 

第1条 (原文)

すべての人間は、生れながらにして自由であり、かつ、尊厳と権利とについて平等である。人間は、理性と良心とを授けられており、互いに同胞の精神をもって行動しなければならない。
 

第3条
(あなた)


あなたは生きる権利、自由に、安心して生きる権利をもっています。
 

(原文)

すべて人は、生命、自由及び身体の安全に対する権利を有する。
 

第4条 (社会)


だれにもあなたを奴隷にする権利はありません。あなたもだれかを自分の奴隷にすることはできません。
 

(原文)

何人も、奴隷にされ、又は苦役に服することはない。奴隷制度及び奴隷売買は、いかなる形においても禁止する。
 

第5条 (社会)


あなたを拷問する、つまり、あなたを痛めつけて苦しめる権利はだれにもありません。あなたも、だれであれひとを拷問することはゆるされません。

何人も、拷問又は残虐な、非人道的な若しくは屈辱的な取扱若しくは刑罰を受けることはない。
 

第7条 (国)


法律はすべての人に対して同じはたらきをします。法律はあらゆる人々に同じにあてはめられるべきです。

すべての人は、法の下において平等であり、また、いかなる差別もなしに法の平等な保護を受ける権利を有する。すべての人は、この宣言に違反するいかなる差別に対しても、また、そのような差別をそそのかすいかなる行為に対しても、平等な保護を受ける権利を有する。
 

第8条 (国)


国の法律が守られていないようなできごとがあなたの身におこったとき、あなたは法律によって自分を守ってくれるように要求することができます。
 

(原文)

すべて人は、憲法又は法律によって与えられた基本的権利を侵害する行為に対し、権限を有する国内裁判所による効果的な救済を受ける権利を有する。
 

第9条 (あなた)


不正に、あるいは理由もなく、あなたを牢屋に入れたり、どこかに閉じ込めたり、あなたの国から追い出したりする権利は、だれにもありません。
 

(原文)

何人も、ほしいままに逮捕、拘禁、又は追放されることはない。
 

第10条(社会)


あなたがもし裁判にかけられるようなことがあっても、その裁判は秘密に行われてはなりません。あなたを裁く人は、だれからもさしずを受けてはなりません。

すべて人は、自己の権利及び義務並びに自己に対する刑事責任が決定されるに当っては、独立の公平な裁判所による公正な公開の審理を受けることについて完全に平等の権利を有する。
 

第11条
(あなた)


あなたは有罪であることが証明されるまでは、無罪であるとみなされなければなりません。あなたはある罪があるとうったえられたとき、つねに自分を守る権利があります。あなたがやっていないことについてあなたをとがめたり、罰を加える権利は、だれにもありません。

①犯罪の訴追を受けた者は、すべて、自己の弁護に必要なすべての保障を与えられた公開の裁判において法律に従って有罪の立証があるまでは、無罪と推定される権利を有する。

②何人も、実行の時に国内法又は国際法により犯罪を構成しなかった作為又は不作為のために有罪とされることはない。また、犯罪が行われた時に適用される刑罰より重い刑罰を課せられない。


第6条(あなた)


どこにいても、あなたは他のどんな人とも同じように守られるべきです。

すべて人は、いかなる場所においても、法の下において、人として認められる権利を有する。
 

第12条
(あなた)


もしだれかが、あなたの生活の仕方や、あなたやあなたの家族の考え方や、それを文章に書いたものをむりやり変えさせようとするとき、あなたにはそんなことをされないように守ってくれるように要求する権利があります。
 

(原文)

何人も、自己の私事、家族、家庭若しくは通信に対して、ほしいままに干渉され、又は名誉及び信用に対して攻撃を受けることはない。人はすべて、このような干渉又は攻撃に対して法の保護を受ける権利を有する。
 

第13条
(あなた)


あなたは自分の国のうちを、好きなように行ったり来たりする権利をもっています。あなたは自分の国を離れて、別な国へ行く権利をもっています。またそうしたければ、ふたたびもとの自分の国へもどることもできます。

①すべて人は、各国の境界内において自由に移転及び居住する権利を有する。
②すべて人は、自国その他いずれの国をも立ち去り及び自国に帰る権利を有する。

第14条
(あなた)



もしだれかがあなたに害を加えて苦しめるときには、あなたは別の国へいって、あなたを守ってくれるようにたのむ権利をもっています。あなたがだれかを殺したり、あなた自身がここに書かれていることを大切にし、守らないときには、あなたはそのような権利をもちません。
 

(原文)

①すべて人は、迫害を免れるため、他国に避難することを求め、かつ、避難する権利を有する。

②この権利は、もっぱら非政治犯罪又は国際連合の目的及び原則に反する行為を原因とする訴追の場合には、援用することはできない。

第15条
(あなた)



あなたはひとつの国の国民となる権利をもっています。また、だれももっともな理由がないのに、あなたが自分でねがって他の国の国民になろうとするのをさまたげることはでさません。

①すべて人は、国籍をもつ権利を有する。

②何人も、ほしいままにその国籍を奪われ、又はその国籍を変更する権利を否認されることはない。

第16条
(家族)


だれでも子どもをもてるような年齢になったらすぐに、男性でも女性でも結婚して、家庭をつくる権利をもっています。このことについては、あなたの皮膚の色が何色であるか、あなたの出身国がどこであるか、まったく関係ありません。男女は結婚について、あるいは離婚について、まったく等しい権利をもつのです。だれもだれかをむりやり結婚させることはできません。


(国)


あなたの国の政府はあなたの家庭とその成員を守るべきです。

① 成年の男女は、人権、国籍又は宗教によるいかなる制限をも受けることなく、婚姻し、かつ家庭をつくる権利を有する。成年の男女は、婚姻中及びその解消に際し、婚姻に関し平等の権利を有する。

② 婚姻は、両当事者の自由かつ完全な合意によってのみ成立する。

③ 家庭は、社会の自然かつ基礎的な集団単位であって、社会及び国の保護を受ける権利を有する。

第25条(家庭)



あなたは、あなたとあなたの家族が病気にならないために、また病気になったときに世話を受けられるために、飢えることがないために、寒さに悩むことがないために、住居をもつために、必要な一切のものをもつ権利をもっています。子どもを産もうとしている母とその子は、援助を受けるべきです。すべての子どもはその母親が結婚しているかいないかにかかわらず、同じ権利をもっています。

① すべて人は、衣食住、医療及び必要な社会的施設等により、自己及び家族の健康及び福祉に十分な生活水準を保持する権利並びに失業、疾病、心身障害、配偶者の死亡、老齢その他不可抗力による生活不能の場合は、保障を受ける権利を有する。

あなたは学校に通う権利、ただで義務教育を受ける権利をもっています。あなたはある職業を学んだり、あるいは望むだけ勉強を続けることができるべきです。あなたは学校であなたのあらゆる才能を発展させることができ、どんな信仰をもっているか、出身国がどこであるかに関係なく、だれとでも仲良く生活しつづけることを教えられるべきです。

(家族)


あなたの両親は、あなたがどのように教育されるか、また学校で何を教えられるかを選ぶ権利をもっています。

① すべて人は、教育を受ける権利を有する。教育は、少なくとも初等の及び基礎的の段階においては、無償でなければならない。初等教育は、義務的でなければならない。技術教育及び職業教育は、一般に利用できるものでなければならず、また、高等教育は、能力に応じ、すべての者にひとしく開放されていなければならない。

② 教育は、人格の完全な発展並びに人権及び基本的自由の尊重の強化を目的としなければならない。教育は、すべての国又は人種的若しくは宗教的集団の相互間の理解、寛容及び友好関係を増進し、かつ、平和の維持のため、国際連合の活動を促進するものでなければならない。

③ 親は、子に与える教育の種類を選択する優先的権利を有する。

(あなた)



あなたは、他のだれもと同じように、いろんなものを自分のものとしてもつ権利をもっています。だれにもそれをあなたからうばいとる権利はありません。

① すべて人は、単独で又は他の者と共同して財産を所有する権利を有する。
② 何人も、ほしいままに自己の財産を奪われることはない。

第18条(あなた)


あなたは、信じる宗教を自由に選んだり、別なものに変えたり、ひとりで、あるいは他の人々といっしょに、望むとおりに信じておこなう権利をもっています。

すべて人は、思想、良心及び宗教の自由に対する権利を有する。この権利は、宗教又は信念を変更する自由並びに単独で又は他の者と共同して、公的に又は私的に、布教、行事、礼拝及び儀式によって宗教又は信念を表明する自由を含む。
 

第19条(あなた)


あなたは好きなようにものごとを考えたり、あなたが好むことを言い表す権利をもっています。だれもあなたがそうするのを禁止することはできません。
 

(社会)


あなたはどこに住んでいても、あなたの考えを他の国の人々とやりとりすることが許されるべきです。

すべて人は、意見及び表現の自由に対する権利を有する。この権利は、干渉を受けることなく自己の意見をもつ自由並びにあらゆる手段により、また、国境を越えると否とにかかわりなく、情報及び思想を求め、受け、及び伝える自由を含む。
 

第20条 (国)



だれもひとを何かの集団にむりやり所属させることはできません。だれでも集会を組織する権利、自分の意志で集会に参加する権利、平和的な方法で協同するために集まる権利をもっています。

① すべての人は、平和的集会及び結社の自由に対する権利を有する。

② 何人も、結社に属することを強制されない。

第21条
(あなた)



あなたは、たとえば政府の一員となることによって、あるいはあなたと同じ考えをもつ政治家を選ぶことによって、あるいはあなたの選択を自由に投票によって示すことによって、あなたの国のことがらに積極的に参加する権利をもっています。
 

(国)


これらの行為は、すべての人々の意志を、投票した人がだれの名前を書いたかを知られることがない自由な投票によって表現するものです。投票は男か女かにかかわりなく平等で、だれもがおこなうことができます。
 

(原文)

① すべて人は、直接に又は自由に選出された代表者を通じて、自国の政治に参与する権利を有する。

② すべて人は、自国においてひとしく公務につく権利を有する。

③ 人民の意思は、統治の権力を基礎とならなければならない。この意思は、定期のかつ真正な選挙によって表明されなければならない。この選挙は、平等の普通選挙によるものでなければならず、また、秘密投票又はこれと同等の自由が保障される投票手続によって行われなければならない。

第23条
(あなた)


あなたは働く権利、あなたの仕事を自由に選ぶ権利、あなたが生活し、あなたの家族を養うことができるような給料をもらう権利をもっています。
 

(社会)

もし男の人と女の人が同じ仕事をする場合、どちらも同じ額の給料を受けるべきです。すべて働く人々は、自分たちの利益を守るために団結する権利をもっています。
 

(原文)

① すべて人は、勤労し、職業を自由に選択し、公正かつ有利な勤労条件を確保し、及び失業に対する保護を受ける権利を有する。

② すべて人は、いかなる差別をも受けることなく、同等の勤労に対し、同等の報酬を受ける権利を有する。

③ 勤労する者は、すべて、自己及び家族に対して人間の尊厳にふさわしい生活を保障する公正かつ有利な報酬を受け、かつ、必要な場合には、他の社会的保護手段によって補充を受けることができる。

④ すべて人は、自己の利益を保護するために労働組合を組織し、及びこれに参加する権利を有する。


第24条(社会)



労働時間はあまり長すぎてはなりません。というのはだれもが休息する権利をもっているのであり、定期的に給料をもらいながら休みを取れことができるべきだからです。

何人も、労働時間の合理的な制限と定期的な有給休暇とを含む休息および余暇を得る権利を有する。
 

第27条(社会)



あなたが芸術家であろうと、作家であろうと、科学者であろうと、あなたはあなたの作品を自由に他の人と分かち合い、共同でおこなったことがらから利益を得ることが許されるべきです。
 

(あなた)

あなたの作品はあなたのものとして守られるべきであり、あなたはそれらから利益を得ることが許されるべきです。

① 何人も、自由に、社会の文化的生活に参加し、芸術を楽しみ、かつ科学の進歩とそれの恩恵にあずかる権利を有する。

第22条
(社会)



あなたが住んでいる社会は、あなた、および、あなたの国に住んでいるすべての男の人、女の人に与えられているあらゆる便宜(文化にかかわる、お金の面での、身を安全に守るうえでの)を、あなたが発展させ、享受するのを助けるべきです。

あなたは、仕事がないために、病気であるために、年をとったために、あなたの妻または夫が亡くなったために、あるいはあなたの力ではどうにもできないことがらのために、働くことができないような場合には、助けてもらう権利をもっています。

(あなた)

 

こういうわけで、あなたは、あなたの人間らしさを発展させることを認める人々のなかに住んでいるのですから、そういう人々に対してあなたも同じようにする義務を負っているのです。

① すべて人は、その人格の自由かつ完全な発展がその中にあってのみ可能である社会に対して義務を負う。

② すべて人は、自己の権利及び自由を行使するに当っては、他人の権利及び自由の正当な承認及び尊重を保障すること並びに民主的社会における道徳、公の秩序及び一般の福祉の正当な要求を満たすことをもっぱら目的として法律によって定められた制限にのみ服する。

第30条(世界)


世界のあらゆるところにおいて、どんな社会も、どんな個人も、これまでいろいろ挙げてきた権利や自由を無効なものにしようなどとすることは許されません。

この宣言のいかなる規定も、いずれかの国、集団又は個人に対して、この宣言に掲げる権利及び自由の破壊を目的とする活動に従事し、又はそのような目的を有する行為を行う権利を認めるものと解釈してはならない。
 

第2条(世界)



したがって、たといあなたと同じ言語を話さなくても、あなたと同じ皮層の色でなくても、あなたと同じ考え方をしなくても、あなたと同じ宗教を信じていなくても、あなたよりも貧しかったりお金持ちだったりしても、あなたと国籍が同じでなくても、すべての人はこれまで述べてきたようないろいろな権利や自由をもっていて、それらのおかげで助かる権利をもつのです。

① すべて人は、人種、皮膚の色、性、言語、宗教、政治上その他の意見、国民的若しくは社会的出身、財産、門地その他の地位又はこれに類するいかなる事由による差別をも受けることなく、この宣言に掲げるすべての権利と自由とを享有することができる。

Article 1
World

 When children are born, they are free and should always be treated in the same way.

 All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
 They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 3
You

 You have the right to live, to live in freedom and in safety.

 Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 4
Society

 Nobody has the right to make you their slave and you cannot make anyone your slave.

 No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

Article 5
Society

 Nobody has the right to torture you, that is, to hurt you, and you cannot torture anyone.

 No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Article 7
Country

 The law is the same for everyone: it should be applied in the same way for all.

 All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

Article 8
Country

 You can ask for legal protection when the law of your country is not respected.

 Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.

Article 9
You

 Nobody has the right to put you in prison, to keep you there, to send you away from your country, unjustly or without a reason.

 No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Article 10
Society

 If you must go on trial, this should be done in public. The people who try you should not let themselves be influenced by others.

 Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.

Article 11
You

 You should be considered innocent until it can be proved that you are guilty. If you are accused of a crime, you always have the right to defend yourself. Nobody has the right to condemn you and punish you for something you have not done.

  • (1)Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.
  • (2)No one shall be held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under national or international law, at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time penal offence was committed.
Article 6
You

 You should be protected in the same way, everywhere and like everyone else.

 Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.

Article 12
You

 You have the right to ask to be protected if someone wants to force you to change: the way you are; what you and your family think or write.
 Nobody can enter your house without a reason.

 No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honor and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

Article 13
You

 You have the right to come and go as you wish in your country.
 You have the right to leave your country for another one; and you can return to your country if you want.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.
  • (2)Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.
Article 14
You

 If someone hurts you, you have the right to go to another country and ask it to protect you.
 You lose this right if you have killed someone and if you, yourself, do not respect what is written here.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to seek and enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
  • (2)This right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
Article 15
You

 You have the right to belong to a country and nobody can prevent you, without a good reason, from belonging to another country if you wish.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to a nationality.
  • (2)No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality.
Article 16
Family  As soon as a person is old enough to have children, he or she has the right to marry and have a family. In doing this, neither the color of your skin, nor the country you come from has any importance. Men and women have the same rights when they are married and also when they are separated.
 Nobody can force a person to marry.
Country

 The government of your country should protect your family and its members.

  • (1)Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
  • (2)Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
  • (3)The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
Article 25
Family

 You have the right to have whatever is necessary so that you and your family: do not fall ill and so that you are looked after when you are ill, are not hungry; are not cold; have a house.
 The mother who is going to have a baby and her baby when it is born, should be helped. All children have the same rights, even if the mother is not married.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
  • (2)Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.
Article 26
You  You have the right: to go to school; to take advantage of compulsory education without having to pay anything. You should be able to learn a profession or continue your studies as far as you wish. At school, you should be able to develop all your talents and you should be taught to get on with others, whatever their religion or the country they come from.
Family

 Your parents have the right to choose how you will be taught, and what you will be taught at school.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
  • (2)Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
  • (3)Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
Article 17
You

 Like everyone else, you have the right to own something and nobody has the right to take it from you.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
  • (2)No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
Article 18
You

 You have the right to choose your religion freely, to change it, to practise it as you wish, on your own or with other people.

 Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Article 19
You  You have the right to think what you want, to say what you like, and nobody can forbid you from doing so.
Society

 You should be able to exchange your ideas with men and women from other countries, no matter where they live.

 Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Article 20
Country

 Nobody can force a person to belong to a group but everyone has the right: to organize meetings; to take part in a meeting if he or she wants to,. to meet in order to work together in a peaceful way.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
  • (2)No one may be compelled to belong to an association.
Article 21
You  You have the right to take an active part in your country's affairs: by belonging to the government; by choosing politicians who have the same ideas as you; by going to vote freely to show your choice.
Country

 These actions should express the will of all the people by a secret vote. Men's and women's votes are equal and everyone can vote.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country' directly or through freely chosen representatives.
  • (2)Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.
  • (3)The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.
Article 23
You  You have the right to work, to be free to choose your work, to receive a salary which allows you to live and support your family.
Society

 If a man and a woman do the same work, they should receive the same salary. All people who work have the right to group together to defend their interests.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favorable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
  • (2)Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.
  • (3)Everyone who works has the right to just and favorable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.
  • (4)Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.
Article 24
Society

 Each work day should not be too long, for everyone has the right to rest and should be able to take regular paid holidays.

 Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

Article 27
Society  Whether you are an artist, a writer or a scientist, you should be free to share the work with others and to profit from what you have done together.
You

 Your works should be protected and you should be able to benefit from them.

  • (1)Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.
  • (2)Everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.
Article 22
Society

 The society in which you live should help you to develop and make the most of all the advantages (culture, money, protection of your person) which are offered to you and to all the men and women in your country.

 Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.

Article 25
You

 You have the right to be helped if you cannot work: because there is no work; because you are ill; because you are too old; because your wife or husband is dead; for any other reason beyond your control.

  • (1)Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

Article 28
World

 So that your rights and freedoms are respected, in your country and all the other countries in the world, there must be an 'order' which can fully protect these rights and freedoms.

 Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.

Article 29
You  This is why you also have duties towards the people you live amongst, who also allow you to develop your personality.
Society

 The law does not take anything away from Human Freedoms and Rights, but it allows everyone to respect others and to be respected.

  • (1)Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible.
  • (2)In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.
  • (3)These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
Article 30
World

 In all parts of the world, no society, no human being can take it upon himself to destroy the rights and freedoms which you have just been reading about.

 Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

Article 2
World

 Therefore, everyone has the right to possess or to take advantage of all that has just been said:
even if he or she does not speak your language
even if he or she does not have the color of your skin
even if he or she does not think like you
even if he or she does not have the same religion as you
even if he or she is poorer or richer than you
even if he or she is not from the same country as you.

 Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

 Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
